Schulzhytta

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Schulzhytta is a farmed hut of the Norwegian Trekking Association in the central Norwegian municipality of Selbu in Trøndelag . It is located in the middle of the Skarvan og Roltdalen National Park , the next road is approx. 20 km away. The Schulzhytta is named after Carl Schulz (1851-1944), the first chairman of the Trondheim section of the Norwegian Trekking Association Trondhjems Turistforening . Construction of the hut began in 1948.

The management only takes place during the main hiking season in summer and around Easter; at other times it can be used like any unmanaged hut. The property consists of several buildings. The main building has 36 beds (for self-service) or 30 beds (for service) in several rooms, a provisions store, a kitchen, a comfortable lounge and another common room. The hut, which can accommodate significantly more overnight guests if necessary, is not connected to the electricity grid.

The surrounding area is wooded and partly boggy. Several marked hiking trails lead to the hut, including past Fongen to Ramsjøhytta , Selbu, Græslihytta and Bjørneggen .
