The refuge is a bay on the Borchgrevink coast of East Antarctica Victoria Land . It lies between the southern end of the Daniell Peninsula and the northeastern edge of the Borchgrevink glacier tongue and borders the Glacier Strait .
Scientists from the German expedition GANOVEX III (1982–1983) made the name.
