Schuyler S. Wheeler

Schuyler Skaats Wheeler ( May 17, 1860 - April 20, 1923 ) was an American engineer who invented the electric fan in 1882 .

From 1888 he worked with Francis B. Crocker in their company Crocker & Wheeler , which later also brought out the toast-o-lator .

In 1904 he received the Franklin Institute's John Scott Medal .
