Schwaig is a district of the municipality of Oberding in the Upper Bavarian district of Erding with a little over 800 inhabitants.

location

The parish village is in the open, about 5 km northwest of Erdingen city center and about 3 km east of Munich Airport .

history

Schwaig is first mentioned in a document between 1231 and 1237. The Catholic parish church of St. Korbinian is a neo-Romanesque hall building by Johann Baptist Schott , built in 1903–05. The small previous chapel from 1683 is included as a sacristy. The decision of the Bavarian state government on August 5, 1969 to build a large airport in Erdinger Moos resulted in a restriction in local development . The district of Franzheim was even relocated.
