The hazelnut is black-brown

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Black-brown is the hazelnut is a German folk song whose numerous text and melody variants have been known since the end of the 18th century. These include various text variations such as a soldier's song . Well known is the version of the pop singer Heino , which appeared on his LP "Hard was the parting". The African-American vocal ensemble Golden Gate Quartet also has the song in their repertoire. The first stanza was presented in the film production Otto - Der Film (1985) as an allusion to Michael Jackson's music video Thriller by Otto Waalkes (in the role as Heino). Erwin Halletz used the refrain in his composition Always when I'm sad , which he wrote for Heinz Erhardt in his role as Willi Hirsekorn in the film That Can't Shake Our Willi (1970).

The motif

“The motif of the dark-haired girl has appeared in many folk songs since the 16th century. It describes a gripping, hearty type. The opposite is the brittle, bright type of woman who often has a higher social rank. "

song lyrics

1. The hazelnut is black-brown,
I am black-brown too, yes I
my girl must be black-brown
just like me.
2. Sweetheart gave me a kiss,
has offended me badly, yes badly offended me,
I gave it back to her right away,
I don't take anything for free!
3. Treasure has no marriage property,
Treasure has no money, no money
but i won't give it out
for everything in the world.
4. The hazelnut is black-brown,
I am black-brown too, yes I
who wants to become my darling,
he must be like me.
Refrain :
Holdrio, duwiduwidi, holdria.
Holdria duwiduwidi.
Holdrio, duwiduwidi, holdria.
Holdria duwiduwidi.
