Schwarzenbach Chapel

The Schwarzenbach chapel , also called Frank'nkapelle , is located in the Upper Palatinate town of Pleystein near the Schwarzenbach. It belongs to the parish of Pleystein.

history

In 1732 Georg Berthold, white tanner from Pleystein, together with his sisters Anna and Eva, had this chapel built on his property. The chapel was sold to the carpenter Sigmund Frank on May 31, 1787. In the same year he had the chapel renovated. Since then, the image of the Coronation of Mary has had the inscription in an oval cartouche , "In honor of the Most Holy Trinity and the Blessed Mother of God, Sigmund Frank, citizen and master carpenter in Pleystein, had these chapels and paintings renovated in 1787". The chapel was owned by the Frank family until the 20th century, but is now owned by the Walbrunn family.

Construction

The chapel is a simple saddle roof building over a rectangular floor plan. The building has the dimensions of 3 by 3.65 m.

Interior

The interior is equipped with a brick floor and a coffered ceiling. To the right of the entrance is a granite offering box with iron fittings and the year "1814". The room was furnished with four pictures ( fourteen helpers in need , the coronation of the Virgin, the baptism of Jesus and an oil painting from 1811 depicting the holy clan ). A cross with a rosary is attached to one wall.
