The Schwarzkopfkolk is a small stagnant body of water ( Kolk ) in the Magdeburg district of Berliner Chaussee , Neugrüneberg.
The small pond is located west of the Schwarzkopfweg road and is classified as an area natural monument. From an ecological point of view, it is a so-called stepping stone biotope within the otherwise predominantly residential area. Water birds and amphibians in particular live in the species-rich biotope. Crucian carp have been found among the fish . The Schwarzkopfkolk also serves as a fishing water. On the bank, the Kolk is surrounded by a belt of reeds and some willows .
In autumn 2006 the Magdeburg Environmental Office prompted the beginning of work on desilting of the water, as a progressive siltation was observed. The reed belt is only cut back in sections so that the animals can use the reeds as a retreat. A pruning of the pastures in the bank area is also planned for carrying out the dredging work.
