The black and white felt cup ( Tapesia melaleucoides ) is a type of fungus from the Dermateaceae family .

description

The fruit body is flat, bowl-shaped and sessile. He sits in sociable groups on a felt hyphae covering the substrate. Its diameter is 1 to 4 millimeters. The fruit slice is ivory-white, the outside dark brown. At first the pharmacies are almost closed. They open as they mature. They are lined with the edge that is slightly turned inwards. Later they spread out flat in the shape of a disk and can even bulge a little from the inside. It often happens that the fruiting bodies deform each other due to the close growth. The spores measure 6.5 to 8 × 2 to 2.5 micrometers. They are hyaline, elliptical, and smooth. The asci measure 45 to 60 × 5 to 6.5 micrometers and are cylindrical-club-shaped. The paraphyses are cylindrical. They have deep septa .

Occurrence

The species grows on dead wood from coniferous and deciduous trees, such as oak, birch or linden. It can be found in spring and is not uncommon.
