The forest pig jumper Fuhr champion is a wooded area in the town of Zetel in the district of Friesland in Lower Saxony .

location

The forest is located in the west of the municipality of Zetel between the towns of Neuchâtel and Friedeburg . The federal road 437 leads through the forest area .

Origin of name

The name Schweinbrücker Fuhrenkämpe is derived from the nearby village of Schweinbrück . The name Fuhrenkämpe means Föhrenkämpe and describes a collection of pines .

Infrastructure

The Zetel ammunition depot of the Bundeswehr is located in the forest area . With around 140 employees, the facility is one of the largest employers in the region. The depot area covers around 180  hectares and has an external length of around 5.5 kilometers.

The school and leisure center Voslapp is located in the far west of the forest area . The building was built in 1930 for trainees at the Wilhelmshaven Reichsmarinewerft and rededicated as a school camp in 1953 . The school camp got its name Voslapp after the Wilhelmshaven elementary school Voslapp in the district Voslapp , from which the school camp was originally administered. The facility offers space for two classes at the same time and has an area of ​​1.7 hectares with old trees and a campsite.
