The Swiss Chess Journal (SSZ) is the official organ of the Swiss Chess Federation .

The first edition appeared in October 1900, making the SSZ one of the oldest chess magazines still published . The SSZ appeared eleven times up to 2009, since then eight times a year with a print run of 8,000 copies and comprises around 40–50 printed pages. It contains, among other things, sections on correspondence chess and chess composition . Since the SSZ is a Swiss magazine, it contains articles in German as well as in French and Italian. Editor-in-chief is Markus Angst, one of the chess referees in the 2004 world championship match between Wladimir Kramnik and Péter Lékó .
