Focus (vocational training)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

One focus is a differentiation option for state-recognized training occupations . It is taken into account in the training framework plan to an extent of between six and twelve months and in the final examination .

scope of application

The use of focal points is the second strongest form of internal differentiation in an occupation after the subject area . It is an implicit differentiation.

In the case of a three-year training occupation with a focus, the first two years of training are usually identical. After 24 months, i.e. H. In the third year of training, the specific skills, knowledge and abilities of the respective industry take place. Example: The apprenticeship process mechanic for plastics and rubber technology currently has six main focuses: components, fiber composites, molded parts, semi-finished products, plastic windows and multi-layer rubber parts. However, these designations are not shown in the examination certificate or the journeyman's certificate .

Differentiation from other differentiation options

  • Single occupation: Professions that have no internal differentiation are referred to as single occupations. The qualification profile of the profession does not show any specialization.
  • Specialization: They are described in the training regulations for the respective training occupation and have a scope of 6 to a maximum of 18 months.
  • Elective qualifications : They come into consideration as a structural element in particular for apprenticeships that are in demand by specialized industries. Each of these companies works on a different range of tasks. The companies can combine various qualifications in individual areas by using elective qualifications. Elective qualifications are taken into account in the apprenticeship profile, in the general training plan and in the exams. Their duration is between six and 18 months.
  • Occupation with operational areas : An operational area represents the weakest form of internal differentiation. Here the training is deepened in one or more operational areas for a maximum of 12 months. The area of application can be taken into account in the examination. Professions with areas of application are, for example, industrial metal professions, e.g. B. the plant mechanic or the tool mechanic .
