Sisters of Our Lady of China

The Sisters of Our Lady of China ( Engl. : Sisters of Our Lady of China , religious symbol : OLC) are a Congregation of women in the Roman Catholic Church . They are missionary sisters under episcopal law and were founded in 1940 by the Archbishop of Beijing , Thomas Cardinal Tien Ken-sin . The name chosen by the first archbishop of Chinese origin is traced back to the miraculous image of the "Mother of God of China".

history

Their first community was established in Shandong Village. In 1952 the sisters had to flee to the city of Chiayi in Taiwan , where the general house of the religious order was built. Since 1992 the "Sisters of Our Lady of China" have set up a branch in Graz ( Austria ).

Religious life

Religious life is based on St. Francis , this order is based on the Gospel and should be clearly felt in the areas of responsibility. The sisters see themselves as helpers in need, they take care of the elderly and the sick and lead days of contemplation and retreat .
