Scott J. Mullin

Scott J. Mullin (* 1955 in Montreal , Québec ) is a former Canadian ambassador .

Life

From 1978 to August 1979 he worked under Ian Hamilton in the Immigration Department in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Burma.

From 1978 to 1981 he was the second class embassy secretary in the Hong Kong High Commission . From 1981 to 1984 he was the second-class embassy secretary in the High Commission in Nairobi . In 1983 he was appointed ambassador to Somalia , where he was accredited in 1984.

From 1984 to 1985 he was First Class Embassy Secretary in Beirut. From 1986 to 1987 he was deputy head of the Liaison and Coordination Department at the State Department in Ottawa. From 1987 to 1988 he was Bureau Chief to the Secretary of State at the Canadian Department of State. In September 1988 he was appointed chargé d'affaires in Tehran , where he was posted until November 1, 1990.

From 1991 to 1993 he was press spokesman for the State Department under Barbara McDougall . From 1993 to 1997 he was Trade Representative in the Commission for Canada in Hong Kong. In 1997 he was retired .
