Scott Shoal is a shoal in the Ross Sea . It lies east of the Borchgrevink coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land .
It is named after the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott (1868–1912), who died on the Ross Ice Shelf while marching back from the geographic South Pole .
