information First multi-level shooter

Scramble is an arcade game developed by Konami in 1981 and one of the first multi-level shoot-'em-ups in the world.

description

Scramble is a futuristic, horizontally scrolling shooter. The player controls a spaceship which must be flown to the right. You can only shoot in the direction of flight, but you can also drop bombs downwards.

At the bottom of the screen there are missiles that rise vertically and can hit the player's spaceship. These can be shot on the ground or in flight. The tanks below can be used to refuel. UFOs come from the right, which you have to avoid or destroy. In the later course there are rock-like boundaries on the above side, which you must not touch either. In the end, you have to destroy a base. There are six phases of the game with different landscapes and opponents.

success

The game was very successful; it grossed $ 20 million in the first two months. There are numerous clones and conversions, also under the names of Skramble, Scrambler or Scramble Racer. Omni Video Games emulated the game (it was not yet copyrighted) and one of the first lawsuits in this area arose.
