Scratch (musician)
Kyle "Scratch" Jones (* in Camden , New Jersey ) is an American hip hop musician.
Jones was one of the first beatboxers to musically imitate scratch noises with their mouths , which is what earned him his nickname. He is best known for the hip-hop band The Roots , where he has been the DJ for live performances since 1998. In 2003 he left the band and has been touring the world solo ever since. His 2007 album Loss 4 Wordz included Kanye West , Musiq and the Gorillaz .
He starred in Spike Lee's film Bamboozled (2000) with Damon Wayans , Jada Pinkett Smith and Michael Rapaport as well as Marc Levin's 2001 film Brooklyn Babylon .
