A Scratchpad refers to a computer - program for quickly writing notes, inserting drawings and other information, comparable to a conventional notebook or even sticky notes ( "Post-it"). Programs with a larger scope of performance allow, for example, keywording, search and management of links to internal and external documents as well as image, audio and video data. Modern solutions offer the synchronization of data between desktop computers and mobile clients via a cloud service .

A widely known example is the so-called sticky notes (Engl. Sticky Notes ) as part of the operating system Microsoft Windows since Vista changed in the "List Size" and color, but only a few font formats are possible.
