The Scud Rock (from English scud , gust of wind , gust of wind ' ) is an isolated cliff between the Joinville Islands and the Danger Islands off the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 6 km south of Moody Point on Joinville Island from the Weddell Sea .
Scientists from the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out a rough mapping in 1953. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1957 after the prevailing wind conditions here.
