The Sculpture by the Sea Cottesloe exhibition, which has been held annually since 2005 , showed 74 works by national and international sculptors on the beach in Cottesloe , a suburb of Perth , in Western Australia in 2014 .

history

The idea for Sculpture by the Sea came from David Handley in the 1990s and was first held in 1997 on Bondi Beach in Sydney for a period of one day. In Cottesloe it was held for the first time every 14 days in 2005 under the same title with 37 exhibited works. Aarhus in Denmark joined this form of exhibition in 2009 with the title Sculpture by the Sea Aarhus . It is the first such exhibition outside of Australia and is held every two years.
