Seán Ó hÉideáin

Seán Ó hÉideáin is an Irish diplomat .

Life

Ó hÉideáin studied at University College Dublin , where he received his Bachelor of Arts . In Rome received his doctorate in social science . From 1941 to 1944, Ó hÉideáin served in the Irish Army .

Ó hÉideáin worked at the Irish Foreign Office and held various diplomatic posts in Dublin , Buenos Aires , Washington, DC and Chicago . In Chicago he acted as Irish consul general. In 1961 and 1965 he was a member of the Irish delegation to the United Nations . In 1966 he was a delegate to UNESCO in Paris .

In the 1970s he was Ireland's representative in the Council of Europe . In 1973 , Ó hÉideáin headed the Irish Embassy in Washington, DC as Chargé d'affaires (ai) from October to November .

Honors

Ó hÉideáin is the holder of the Order of Gregory .
