The Seal Cove ( English for Seal Bay ) is a bay on the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . The water, surrounded by steep cliffs, lies on the east side of the Fletcher Promontory in the Larsemann Hills area .
The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named them. The decisive factor for the naming was the fact that a team working in the area between 1986 and 1987 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions had observed Weddell seals here .
