Seb Dance (* 1. December 1981 in Roehampton ) is a British politician of the Labor Party .

Life

Dance was a Member of Parliament for the London Region for the Labor Party .

He graduated from the University of Manchester . After graduating, he became part of the leadership of the student union, the Manchester Student Union, with a focus on student campaigns and involvement in the merger of the Victoria University of Manchester and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. Dance lives in London with his partner Spencer Livermore.

Previous work

Before moving to the European Parliament, Seb Dance was employed by the charity ActionAid UK, where he worked on structural change companies for the reduction of extreme poverty and hunger worldwide. He has led a long-term campaign against tax evasion by multinationals.

Previously, he was at TLG, a small telecommunications company, responsible for customer care in the public, private and charitable sectors for a variety of campaigns.

From 2007 to 2009 he worked as an advisor to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland at the time when the last moves of the 1998 devolution in connection with the Good Friday Agreement - police and criminal law responsibilities - were being carried out by the Labor government.

European Parliament

Seb Dance was elected to the European Parliament in 2014.

There he was a member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI), responsible for legislation in the field of environmental quality and air quality in London.

He was also a member of the Development Committee (DEVE), where he monitored the spending and priorities of the EU's development aid budget.

Seb was the shadow rapporteur on national emission ceilings for certain air pollutants . He was also the shadow rapporteur on proposals from the European Commission on approaches to address the link between conflict and trade in minerals extracted from the region.
