Sebastian Haen

Sebastian Carsten Peter Haen (born September 1, 1979 in Ulm ; † July 4, 2020 in Hamburg ) was a German physician and university professor.

Life

Sebastian Haen grew up in Tübingen and graduated from high school there. He studied medicine at the University of Tübingen . After graduating, he worked at the Center for Oncology in the medical clinic of the University Hospital in Tübingen, where he obtained the degree of specialist in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. Most recently he worked in the position of senior physician. In 2019, Haen accepted an appointment as professor for immunological cancer research at the University of Hamburg , where he worked until his death.

Sebastian Haen researched mainly in the areas of hematology and oncology, in particular bronchial carcinoma and in the area of ​​tumor immunology. He has directed numerous scientific studies in the field of oncology and has authored and co-authored over 30 scientific publications.

Personal

Sebastian Haen was married and had one son. He died on July 4, 2020 in Hamburg after a short, serious illness.
