Sebastian Mock
Sebastian Mock (born October 24, 1976 in Mühlhausen / Thuringia ) is a German lawyer and university professor for civil and corporate law at the Institute for Civil and Civil Procedure Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business .
Career
Mock passed the Abitur in 1995 at the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in Mühlhausen / Thuringia . After his military service with the 131st observation artillery battalion , he began studying law at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena in 1996 . In the summer semester of 2000 he studied at the University of Montpellier I as part of the European Erasmus program . This was followed by a move to the University of Hamburg , where Mock took his first state examination in 2002 . In the same year he began working on his doctoral thesis.
In 2003/2004 Mock studied at the New York University School of Law and earned an LLM . He also successfully passed the bar exam . From 2005 to 2007 Mock completed his legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court . In January 2007 he received his doctorate with the thesis “Financial Constitution of Corporations and International Accounting” at the University of Hamburg. 2013 he was at the University of Hamburg with the work "The healing of erroneous transactions" habilitation .
From 2002 to 2005, Mock was a research assistant at the seminar for commercial, shipping and business law at the University of Hamburg with Heribert Hirte . From 2008 to 2013 he was a research assistant and habilitation candidate there. After substituting professorships at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn , the University of Konstanz , the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster and the University of Hamburg, he was appointed to the Vienna University of Economics in 2018 . He is a member of the Institute for Civil and Civil Procedure Law.
His main research interests are civil law as well as European and international corporate law.
