Sebastian Peterson

Sebastian Peterson (* 1967 in Hamburg ) is a German film director and screenwriter .

Life

Peterson studied at the University of Film and Television "Konrad Wolf" in Babelsberg . His diploma film FAKE! received several film awards, including the Max Ophüls Prize . Shortly afterwards, Peterson directed the film Helden Wie Wir, based on the novel by Thomas Brussig . After that he worked primarily in the animation film sector. His animated film Diary of a Perfect Love was u. a. awarded the “Golden Unicorn” at the Alpinale and the “Grande Premio” of the Festival Internacional do Algarve .

In 2015, Peterson made his comeback as a feature film director with Meier Müller Schmidt . The film premiered at the Hof International Film Festival and was nominated for the New German Cinema Award. Meier Müller Schmidt was released in German cinemas in the summer of 2016.
