Sebastian of Ammon

Sebastian Erhard von Ammon (born July 19, 1968 in Tegernsee , Bavaria ) is a German lawyer and State Secretary in the Thuringian Ministry for Migration, Justice and Consumer Protection .

Life

After attending school, Von Ammon studied law at the universities of Heidelberg, Lausanne and Munich, which he completed in 1994 with the first state examination in law. After completing his legal clerkship, he passed the Second State Examination in 1996. From 1997 he worked in the judicial service of the Free State of Thuringia , including at the local courts in Stadtroda and Altenburg as well as at the Gera regional court . After a secondment to the then Thuringian Ministry of Justice and a stay in Riga as a long-term advisor to the Latvian Ministry of Justice, he worked as a consultant at the Thuringian Constitutional Court in Weimar. Since December 2014 he has headed the ministerial and state secretary office in the Thuringian Ministry for Migration, Justice and Consumer Protection .

He was appointed State Secretary by the Thuringian Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow on June 1, 2017 . He succeeds Silke Albin , who resigned as State Secretary on May 30, 2017.
