Sebastian von Felsztyn

Sebastian von Felsztyn (also Sebastianus de Felstin , Sebastianus Felstinensis , Sebastian Felstynski , Sebastian z Felsztyna , Roxolanus z Felsztyna ), (* between 1480 and 1490 in Felsztyn ; † after 1552 (?) In Sanok (?)) Was a Polish music theorist and Composer .

Sebastian von Felsztyn studied in Cracow from 1507 to 1509 . He was probably ordained a priest in 1517. In 1536 he became provost in Sanok . He composed several hymns , two Alleluia and a four-part sequence and several four-part motets . He also left a number of writings on music theory. He was promoted by Nikolaus Herburt, castellan of Przemyśl , and Erasmus, abbot of the Mogila monastery .
