Sebastian von Pappenheim

Sebastian von Pappenheim (* 15th century; † 1536 ), was court official, Saxon councilor and owner of the senior council of the Reichsherbmarschallamt from 1529.

Life

Sebastian von Pappenheim was the son of Georg I von Pappenheim († 1470), who died before his father. As a result, the Graefenthal inheritance passed directly to Sebastian from his grandfather. In 1483 he received the Graefenthal fief from Elector Ernst and Duke Albrecht . In 1487 he accompanied the dukes to the Reichstag in Nuremberg. With the imperial army of Friedrich III. In 1492 Sebastian went to war against Charles VIII of France, as he had the Duchess of Brittany, who was intended to be the second wife of the son of Emperor Maximilian I, in his power. The campaign ended on May 23, 1493 with the Peace of Senlis . Sebastian had already taken over the seniorate of the Reichsherbmarschallamt in 1529, and in 1530 he accompanied Johann von Sachsen to the Reichstag in Augsburg . Sebastian was married to Ursula von Wallenrod , with whom he had four children.
