Six dynasties

Under Six Dynasties ( Chinese  六朝 , Pinyin Liù Cháo ), Chinese historians summarize the dynasties following the Han dynasty:

• Wu dynasty
• Eastern Jin Dynasty
• Liu Song Dynasty (Former Song Dynasty)
• Southern Qi Dynasty
• Liang Dynasty
• Chen Dynasty

All these dynasties lay south of the Yangtze River and had their capital in Jiankang , today's Nanjing .
