Six pack (band)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sechserpack was a German rock band from West Berlin .

At the end of the 1970s, the Berlin musicians Mike Pyczak (vocals), Tomm Bopp (bass), Lutz Krüger (guitar), Karl Parchow (drums, percussion), Chris Axel Klöber (keyboard) and Alfred Wagner (saxophone) got together At the suggestion of the lawyer and Rhythm´ & ´Blues fan Ulli Schulze-Rossbach to found a Rhythm´ & ´Blues band, which should make English songs of this genre more popular with texts translated into German.

Chris Klöber brought his experience to Curly Curve and Kin Ping Meh , Alfred Wagner came from Dr. Cook fan .

The first long-playing record six-pack , recorded in Budde Studios '54 under the direction of Jack Rieley , was released in late 1980. Two bottles of beer / So I'll never get old and then sugar + dirt / were released as a single on the occasion of the appearance on the television show Disco in early 1981 Disengaged like an old engine .

Joachim Pawlick joined the band for Karl Parchow and also arranged. In 1982 the band recorded the second LP "Nacht für Nacht" with this new line-up, produced by Ralf Nowy and Udo Arndt as sound engineers. Singles were also released from this LP: Night for Night / Marlena and Aus und Vorbei / Talk of the town . All publications were made on the pool label.

The band toured Germany (especially at Onkel Pö in Hamburg) and Switzerland, played at major festivals (including in 1983 in front of 60,000 visitors in Berlin-Plötzensee) and appeared in various television shows.

The next production in 1984 - the single Galaktische Sailors / Azul y Negro then appeared on the Polydor label . At the end of 1984 Lutz Krüger left the band and was replaced by Ralf Tonnius for ongoing obligations (today: Disco Inferno).

Joachim Pawlick had a fatal accident in June 1985 while preparing for the next LP. At the request of the record company, however, this production should be recorded. This is how the band's third, as yet unreleased album, recorded on Radio Nagrania in Poland (1985) under the direction of Ulrich Schulze-Rossbach, was created under the working title “So'n Feel”. In addition to the remaining band members of the original line-up Pyczak, Bopp, Klöber and Wagner, the New York guitarist Nick Katzman and Hans Wallbaum (Interzone / Hamburg Blues Band) recorded the following individual tracks as drummers: Evi Meier (Lawdy Miss Clawdy) / Petra (Bad Influence) / U-Bahn / Saturday night (Another Saturday Night) / What have I been drinking (What have I been drinkin ') / The paint is off (The thrill is gone) / I have such a feeling (Believe to my soul) / No sleep (Tossin'and turnin ') / Was Liebe ist (What about love) / Gütersloh / Fett / Schuhsalon (Little girl from the candy store) / Wir Hühner (There ain't nobody here but us chickens).

After finishing the recordings, the band decided not to perform together again until after the album was released. It didn't come to that.
