Second sight

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Second Sight is a computer game released in 2004.

action

The player wakes up tortured and without memory in a research institute and single-handedly tries to find out what happened to him, since the staff does not give him any information. After a flashback , you control the character in the past and gradually come to the track of the truth and the events that are responsible for your supposedly present misery. Only later in the game does it become clear that the supposed flashbacks are actually about the present, which enables the protagonist to change the events in the time he previously perceived as the present, as these have not yet happened. During the course of the game, the protagonist therefore experiences many alternating visions of a possible future, which the protagonist usually tries to prevent.

Gameplay

Second Sight is largely a stealth shooter in the style of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell , but the player can also use various psi powers to master the levels . The story is told alternately, sometimes in the past or in the present, whereby you can only use ordinary handguns in the missions that take place in the past, as the player does not yet have psi powers at this point in time.

reception

The game was received mostly positively. Among other things, the good English voice output, the graphic style, as well as the varied psi powers, which enable the player to take and control opposing figures, were highlighted.
