The Secret Chiefs 3 are an American rock band .
history
Secret Chiefs 3 were founded around 1995. The original band members were the instrumentalists of the rock group Mr. Bungle : Trey Spruance (including electric guitar ), Trevor Dunn ( electric bass ) and Danny Heifetz ( drums ). Trey Spruance is a constant part and driving force of the SC3 to this day. The numerous remaining members play or only played temporarily with the SC3, with z. For example, violinists Eyvind Kang and Timb Harris or drummer Ches Smith can be considered permanent members. This diversity of musicians is considered to be particularly appealing because their individual playing style means that existing songs are interpreted differently.

Former Mr. Bungle and temporary Faith No More guitarist Trey Spruance is considered the creative head of SC3 . The musical focus is - which is particularly well demonstrated in their live shows - on a mixture of 1960s surf rock, traditional oriental music with western influences from rock and electronics, as well as film music of the monumental, horror and western genres. Another special feature of the SC3 is its elaborately designed artwork , in which predominantly symbols and writings from Islamic mysticism are used. Many songs have been assigned to various sub-projects in the track lists, which include The Electromagnetic Azoth, UR, Ishraqiyun, Traditionalists, Holy Vehm and FORMS.
