Seda Röder , b. Sesigüzel, (born November 24, 1980 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish pianist who specializes in concert concerts and contemporary music.

education

Seda Röder began her piano studies at the age of ten as a young student at the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul. After her debut as a pianist at the age of thirteen, she won the competition for young artists , organized by the Association of the State Symphony Orchestra of the City of Adana , with her interpretation of Mozart's Piano Concerto in A major, KV 488. After further studies in Turkey and Röder received a diploma with distinction from the Austrian University in Istanbul, which enabled her to take part in the International Summer Academy Mozarteum Salzburg in 2001. During the summer academy she received lessons from Christoph Lieske (Salzburg) and Jacob Latiner (New York). In the following winter semester she was accepted into Rolf Plagge's master class at the Salzburg Mozarteum , which she completed with excellent results in summer 2006. In addition, she took part in master classes with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and András Schiff . From October 2006 to August 2007 Röder completed a postgraduate course with Gerhard Oppitz at the Munich Music Academy.

Scholarships and Awards

In previous years she received scholarships from the Austrian Ministry of Education and the German Academic Exchange Service. In addition, she received grants from the St. Georg College in Istanbul and the Mozarteum University. She is a prizewinner at the National Chamber Music Competition in Corum (Turkey).

Teaching activity

In 2007 Seda Röder was involved in the "Foundation for the Promotion of Culture and Civilization" in Munich. In October 2007 Seda Röder was invited to Harvard University as a Fellow , where she also taught from 2008 to 2012. At the same time she was an "affiliated artist" at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
