history

In 1851 Wilhelm Abele erected a glass and mirror loop on the property of his brother-in-law Ignaz von Hafenbrädl. For this purpose, a canal was derived from the Great Rain. The glass for the ribbon was supplied by the Seebachhütte, which had been built by Franz Ignaz von Hafenbrädl as early as 1790 about 150 meters northeast of the grinding shop. This glassworks existed until it was demolished in 1908.

In 1872 there were eighty stakes and twenty grinding stands in the Seebach loop. In 1876 it was leased to Franz Schrenk from Lohberg . In 1882 it was converted into the most important mirror loop in Bavaria, which was operated by Wenzl Schrenk from Elisenthal until 1914 .

From 1919 to 1928, the Seebachschleife served as eyeglass-grinding for Regener work of the company Rodenstock . A power station has been located in the former loop building since 1934. In 1987 Seebachschleife had 36 inhabitants.
