Big rain in front of Ludwigsthal |
The Great Rain (Czech: Řezná ) is the right and northern source river of the Black Rain in the Bohemian Forest in Okres Klatovy , Pilsen region in the Czech Republic and Regen district , Bavaria in Germany. It is considered hydrologically (because of its size) and hydrographically (because of its length) as the main strand and only a by-name of the entire river Regen .
geography
course
The source of the Great Rain lies on the southern slope of the Pancíř ( Panzer , 1214 m) near the settlement of Zadní Pancíř. The stream that rises there is called Řezná (rain, also called rain stream). It flows in a south-westerly direction, along the border to Národní park Šumava (Bohemian Forest National Park), via Železná Ruda (Eisenstein market) to Alžbětín (Elisenthal), where it crosses the state border to Germany. In Bayerisch Eisenstein, the Great Rain bends southeast and flows on the edge of the Bavarian Forest National Park , accompanied on its left bank by the federal road 11 and the forest railway , to the Seebach loop . This is where the Geigenbach , which rises from the Großer Arber (1456 m) and flows through the Großer Arbersee, flows into it. The Großer Regen runs through Regenhütte , Ludwigsthal and Theresienthal to Zwiesel . There it unites as a longer (24 km) and more water-rich (5.2 m³ / s) spring river with the Kleiner Regen (19 km, 2.8 m³ / s) to form the black rain .
