Seed is a Canadian sitcom developed by Joseph Raso for CityTV. It first aired in Canada on February 4, 2013. The series received positive reviews but was discontinued after two seasons.

action

Harry Dacosta is 30 years old, a bachelor and bartender who is constantly broke. He has neither a plan for the future nor does he want to take responsibility. In the past he was a sperm donor in order to raise money. From one day to the next, his life becomes more and more complicated, when suddenly ten-year-old Billy stands at his door and tells him that he is his son. As if that weren't enough, the pubescent fifteen-year-old Anastasia appears with her neurotic parents Janet and Jonathan Colborne. And then there is his pregnant bus acquaintance Rose.

The first season aired between February 4 and April 29, 2013. The second season premiered on March 6, 2014. The series finale ran on June 5, 2014.

United States

The CW has secured broadcasting in the United States . The series premiered there in mid-June 2014, but was withdrawn from the program after a few episodes.

Germany

In Germany, the German Disney Channel secured the rights to the series. The first season has aired since January 7, 2015. The second season aired following the final episode of the first season on February 18, 2015. After the tenth episode of the first season, the series was moved from the Wednesday evening program to the Friday night program, a few episodes later it was moved to the Monday night program. After the end of the second season, despite the poor audience ratings, reruns will be broadcast on Monday night programs.

In Germany, the first season was released on DVD on February 27, 2015. The second season was released on DVD on April 24, 2015.

In the USA, the DVD version of the first season was released on July 1, 2016. The second season can so far only be seen on the streaming portal Hulu .
