Seal rearing station

In seal rearing stations , attempts are made to raise seal pups (howlers) abandoned by their mothers as close to nature as possible and thus save them from death. Visitors have the opportunity to observe seals and to find out more about them.

There are two seal rearing stations in Germany:

In the Netherlands are:

  • Ecomare on the North Holland island of Texel
  • the rescue center (SRRC) in Pieterburen in the municipality of De Marne (province of Groningen)
  • A Seal in Stellendam in the province of South Holland, Haringsvlietplein 3a, 3251 LD Stellendam

There is one station in Ireland:

  • Seal Rescue Center in Courtown Harbor
