Seewis-Schmitten

Seewis-Schmitten is a village in the front Prättigau in the canton of Graubünden . Politically it belongs to Seewis and forms a faction of the municipality.

location

Schmitten is located at 620 m. ü. M. between Pardisla in the west and Grüsch in the east. It has now grown together with both neighboring villages with flowing transitions.

traffic

Schmitten is located on the old Prättigauerstrasse, which was opened in 1843. The modern bypass road was built in 1984-85. It freed the village from transit traffic and is now part of National Road 28 .

The Landquart – Davos Platz railway line of the RhB runs through Schmitten .

Attractions

The small reformed village church is a listed building . The remains of Solavers Castle once sat enthroned above the village and now lie .
