Sefik Tagay

Sefik Tagay or Şefik Tagay (born January 1, 1972 in Beşiri , Turkey ) is a German psychologist , scientist and psychotherapist at the Technical University of Cologne and the University of Duisburg-Essen .

Life

Tagay, the son of the worker Selim Tagay and the housewife Rehan Tagay, née Toku, grew up in a Yazidi family. He attended a primary school in Turkey from July 1980 to June 1981 and came to Germany in 1981, where he attended the primary school in Bochum from August 1981 to July 1985. Tagay went to a high school in Bochum and, after graduating from high school in June 1993, studied psychology from 1993 to 1999 at the Ruhr University Bochum . He graduated with a diploma. 2005 Tagay was in the Medical Faculty of the University of Duisburg-Essen with a thesis on post-traumatic stress disorder doctorate . In 2012 Tagay received his habilitation in the subject of psychotherapy on the subject of “structured, standardized diagnostics of traumatizations and personal resources in psychotherapy” and received the venia legendi (license to teach). Tagay is also entrusted with teaching tasks at the Institute for Gender Studies.

He is the chairman of the Society of Ezidischer Akademikerinnen (GEA).

Research priorities

Tagay conducts research in the areas of psychotraumatology, migration and health, eating disorders, psycho-oncology, resources, psychotherapy, clinical diagnostics and ezidentum.
