The Konz-Könen glider airfield is located on a hill in the town of Konz-Könen on the southwestern side of the Moselle - Saar triangle and is home to the Aero Club Trier und Konz eV

history

The Aero-Club Trier emerged during the Second World War from the Trier Air Sports Association , which was founded in 1927 and was based on the Grüneberg in Trier . From October 1950 the association was based at the Trier-Euren airfield. In 1953 it was entered in the register of associations. In the course of the conversion of the Trier-Euren airfield into an industrial area at the beginning of the 1970s, the association was looking for a new site. From 1973 a glider flight area was built at the current location. In 1976 the club name was supplemented with an addition and Konz . The club repeatedly attracts attention in the regional press and specialist magazines with its successful placements in competitions such as comparison flies.
