The Pohlheim glider airfield is located on a hill southwest of Pohlheim , in the Watzenborn-Steinberg district . The site is home to the glider club, Segelfliegergruppe Steinkopf e. V. and the Drachenflieger Pohlheim e. V.
history
The area has been used as a glider flying site since 1973. At this time the first hangar (old hall) was built.
In 1982, the association Drachenflieger Taunus eV started flight operations at the Pohlheim airfield, in addition to the place founding association Glider Flying Group Steinkopf (also called SGS Pohlheim).
The construction of a further storage facility (new hall) in 2006 was essential for the use.
Place data
The glider site is approved for gliders , motor gliders and the microlight aircraft stationed at the site , and aircraft up to 2000 kg may land, provided they are equipped with a towing device for F-towing .
The space frequency is 123.690 MHz.
