The Tarmstedt glider airfield is an airfield located approx. 2 km northwest of Westertimke with the status of a glider airfield . On the glider airfield, glider flights are predominantly carried out using winch, aircraft tow and self-launch. The airfield is also approved for motor gliders and powered aircraft for the purpose of F-towing .

Infrastructure
The airfield has two grass runways: The main runway 06/24 is 850 meters long. There is also a 560 meter long runway 10/28, which crosses runway 06/24. There are two halls for the gliders, the motor glider and the equipment necessary for flight operations. Workshops are available for maintenance and repair work.
history
On July 11, 1959, with the first take-off of a glider, a Rhönlerche from Bremen, the airfield was opened.

The Tarmstedt glider airfield is operated by Airbus Segelfluggemeinschaft Bremen eV , an air sports club in the Bremen regional association of the German Aero Club . The association offers training to become a glider pilot and subsequently to become a motor glider pilot.
