Glider weather report

Landing a glider outside : The conditions of the atmosphere play a big role in gliding.

Glider weather reports are weather reports for glider pilots , paragliders and hang gliders that are provided by the German Weather Service .

They are distributed via pc_met , INFOMET , www.wetter.com and via a fax server and are updated from March 1 to October 31 of each year at 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. CEST / CET .

The following aspects are the content of a glider weather report:

• weather condition
• Clouds and precipitation
• Thermals
• Thermal beginning
• Daily maximum temperature
• Thermal end
• weather-effective barrier layers
• Ground view
• Zero degree limit
• Ground and altitude winds with direction and speed
• High temperatures
• Notes and warnings
• QNH
• Outlook for the following day
