INFOMET

INFOMET refers to the flight meteorological information provided by the German Weather Service by telephone . Corresponding telephone exchanges are located in Hamburg , Berlin , Cologne / Bonn , Leipzig , Frankfurt and Munich . However, there is no individual advice.

The following information can be called up via INFOMET:

  • METAR messages, which contain information about the weather situation at an airfield,
  • Terminal Aerodrome Forecasts , which include an aviation weather forecast for larger airports,
  • SIGMET messages that warn of dangerous weather phenomena,
  • GAMET messages, an area weather forecast for flights at low altitudes,
  • AIRMET messages, which are issued when required and contain information about less dangerous weather phenomena in the lower airspace ,
  • SYNOP messages, current messages from weather stations,
  • Details from aviation weather reports,
  • Information from weather maps ( altitude winds , temperatures, etc.) and
  • Information from satellite and weather radar images.
