Seigo Shimokawa ( Japanese 下 川 誠 吾 , Shimokawa Seigo ; born November 17, 1975 in Hyogo Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Shimokawa learned to play soccer on the school team at Hokuyo High School and the college team at Momoyama Gakuin University . He signed his first contract with Cerezo Osaka in 1996 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 2001 he reached the final of the Imperial Cup . At the end of the 2001 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . In 2002 he was runner-up with the club in the J2 League and was promoted to the J1 League. In 2003 he reached the final of the Imperial Cup. For the club he completed 171 games. In 2004 he moved to the second division side Kawasaki Frontale . In 2004 he was with the club master of the J2 League and rose to the J1 League. For the club he played six games. In 2006 he moved to league competitor Ōita Trinita . In 2008 he won the J.League Cup with the club . At the end of the 2009 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League. For the club he completed 65 games. At the end of 2010 he ended his career as a football player.
