Seiji Kaneko ( Japanese 金 古 聖 司 Kaneko Seiji ; born May 27, 1980 in Fukuoka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Kaneko learned to play soccer on the school team at Higashi Fukuoka High School . He signed his first contract with the Kashima Antlers in 1999 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . With the club he became Japanese champions in 2000 and 2001 . For the club, he completed 45 first division games. In 2005 he was loaned to the first division club Vissel Kobe . For the club, he completed 10 first division games. In 2006 he was loaned to the first division club Avispa Fukuoka . At the end of the 2006 season, the club was relegated to the J2 League . For the club he completed 18 first division games. In March 2007 he was loaned to the first division club Nagoya Grampus Eight . In 2008 he returned to Kashima Antlers. He then played for Tampines Rovers , PS Mitra Kukar , Angthong FC and Yangon United . At the end of 2015, he ended his career as a football player.
