Seikimatsu Darling ( Japanese 世紀末 ★ ダ ー リ ン , Seikimatsu Dārin ) is a manga by the Japanese artist Maki Naruto , which was published in Japan from 1994 to 1998. It was continued in 2006 and adapted as an original video animation and radio play and can be classified in the genres of Yaoi and Comedy .

The young employee Ogata has fallen in love with his colleague Takasugi. After getting closer to him and getting to know him better, he can finally confess his love to him. And Takasugi even reciprocates his feelings, but he sees a problem: Their feelings are too similar, both want to seduce the other. Ogata then seeks advice from his school friend Yukari Shikibu, who has been with his partner for a long time. In order to finally resolve their problem, Takasugi and Ogata travel to land together. At Ogata's request, Shikibu and his friend follow them to help him. In the onsen everyone gets to know each other better and Ogata and Takasugi also learn each other's weaknesses and finally that both have to get involved in the love of the other instead of just trying to seduce them.

Publications

The manga appeared from 1994 to 1998 in Be × Boy Comics magazine published by Seiji Biblos . This brought out the chapters of the first few years in four edited volumes. A complete new edition with three additional volumes followed in 1999 and 2000 by Akita Shoten . A sequel, Shin Seikimatsu Darling ( 新 ・ 世紀末 ★ ダ ー リ ン ), in three volumes was published between 2002 and 2004 by Jitsugyō no Nihon-sha. From 2006 to 2012 another sequel, Seikimatsu Darling 2006 to Seikimatsu Darling 2012, appeared in Nihon Bungeisha's magazine Karen and seven anthologies.

The manga was also published in Chinese, the latter sequel also in English.

In 1996 Horannabi produced a 30-minute original video animation for the manga. The script was written by Shino Taira and the music was composed by Harukichi Yamamoto . Kazunori Iwakura was responsible for character design and animation direction. The producer was Ken Mochizuki . In Japan the OVA was first released on VHS and later on DVD. The anime was published in German by Anime House 2012 and is available on the Clipfish streaming platform .

In Japan from 1996 to 2000 four music CDs for the series were released by Bandai Music. In 2000 and 2002, five radio play CDs followed by Marine Entertainment.
