On December 18, 1899, the Eichstätter section of the German Alpine Club was founded by 23 Eichstätter citizens. In 1919 the ski department was founded with a youth group. Between 1926 and 1928 the Section contributed financially to the construction of the Ingolstadt house .
In 1932 the construction of the Eichstätter Weg between Ingolstädter Haus and Riemannhaus began. The work was finished on September 24, 1936 and the inauguration took place on August 8, 1937.
