purpose The purpose of the section is to promote and cultivate mountaineering and alpine sports, especially in the Alps and the German low mountain ranges, especially for young people and families, to preserve the beauty and originality of the mountains, to expand knowledge about the mountains and thereby cultivating the bond with home and promoting other sporting activities.

The Roth section of the German Alpine Club (DAV) e. V. ( DAV Roth for short ) is a section of the German Alpine Club in Roth . The DAV Roth is one of the younger and with 1127 members (as of December 31, 2018) one of the smaller sections of the German Alpine Club and the second largest club in the city of Roth.

founding

In 1952, the Nuremberg Section founded a local group in Roth. In 1976 a club house was set up in a tower of Ratibor Castle . In 1994 it was decided to convert the local group, which at that time had around 500 members, into a separate section.

Climbing center

The section operates the DAV climbing center in Roth. It is a climbing wall in a school gym in the neighboring village of Pfaffenhofen . It was established in 1996.
