Selene Zanetti (* 1989 in Vicenza ) is an Italian opera singer (soprano).

biography

Training and first appearances

Selene Zanetti received piano lessons from the age of four and continued them until, at the age of 15, due to a complicated armbreak, she had to take a longer forced break and bridged this with vocal studies. After graduating from school, she studied at the “C. Pollini ”in Padua with Cosetta Tosetti Singing. She graduated with honors and then took part in master classes with Raina Kabaivanska from 2015 . After receiving a scholarship, she continued her studies with this artist in Modena. Master classes with Katia Ricciarelli and Paolo Vaglieri complemented her training. She gained her first stage experience in the title role of Suor Angelica at the Teatro Comunale in Cagli. In September 2016 she took part in the Pafos Aphrodite Festival in Cyprus as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni .

Development as an opera singer

Selene Zanetti has belonged to the opera studio of the Bavarian State Opera since the 2016/17 season and has been a member of the ensemble there since the 2018/19 season. In March 2017 she worked as Magda Sorel in the opera studio production of Menotti's opera Der Konsul . She made her debut at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice in March 2018 as Mimi in La Bohème . As Marie in the premiere cast of the Bartered Bride , newly staged in German at the Bavarian State Opera , she won over the audience and reviewers in December 2018. She made her debut at the Staatstheater Stuttgart in December 2019 as a substitute in the role of Mimì in La Bohème .
